Hi,

I have 2 desktop PCs (A & B) with "A" have 2 network cards ready (mb built
in and a PCI NIC). I want to setup a link (cross lan cable ) between the 2
PCs so that PC "B" can access the Internet via connection to "A". I think
it is possible but don't know how to set this up.

To do this not only for the limitation at the room but also for I want to
have control on Internet access over "B"

thanks in advance.

internet ---------- Machine_A ------------ Machine_B
ICS

Machine A has two network interfaces. The connection between
A and B, can be with a crossover cable, if the interfaces
are 10/100BT. If one of the Ethernet interfaces is a
gigabit Ethernet type, then either a regular or a crossover cable
can be used.

You can probably find more details on setting it up, on some
"home networking" web page.

I've tried it (ICS) here once. I believe the subnet between A and B,
uses private addresses like 192.168.x.x . I used the setup for a
short time, while benchmarking transfer rates between the two
machines. Both machines had gigabit Ethernet. And I had no problem
with "B" being able to browse internet web sites.

I use this kind of setup now - the router is only 10/100BT, so
I can't move files nearly as fast between machines, using this
setup. But this setup has no reliance on "A" running, in order
for "B" to have an internet connection. All the machines are
independent of one another. This is an easy way to share broadband
in a household.

internet ------ router ------ "A"
------ "B"
------ "C"

You need to setup ICS (Internet Connection Sharing), see:
