Networking W98, W2000 and WXP

I'm trying to network W98, W2000 and WXP on three computers on a 10/100
using Netbeui. I've loaded the missing protocol onto the XP and the XP
and 98 are fine for two networking. The problem is with the W2000 pro
(5.00.2195 service pack 4).

When working on that computer I can see the others and share no
problems. But from the other two I can see the icon for W2000 but when I
try to access it ask for a password. How can I change or disable this
passsword as I don't use one for logging on or anything else and I have
tried to disable any other security settings. I have also tried setting
known passwords but to no gain.

You'll want to create an account (in Users and Passwords) on the Win2k
machine(s) with the username and password that you use to logon to the win9x
machine(s) with. Then you'll need to share out the resource(s) with
permissions for those users. Also make sure they're all part of the same
workgroup. Then you'll no longer be prompted for the IPC$ password
Inter-process communication)

In a peer level workgroup, when you try to access resources on a Windows
2000 machine, Windows 2000 needs to authenticate the user. If the user
account doesn't exist in it's local account database, then access will be
denied.
