networking problems - no more connections in preferences

Georg Schild

Since i installed SP2 i have some problems with my winXP home.

i don't see my networking connections anymore in the preferences. there
should be 5 of them, and i have none left. when i open the window it
says, that it cannot find out anything about my connections, perhaps the
network-connection-daemon (Don't know if this is the real name for the
thing in english, my windows speaks german) isn't running. but in the
administration directory in preferences i can see, that this daemon is
running. when starting up windows there is also a message, that the
bluetooth-stack couldn't be startet. i have a link on the desktop for a
VPN-net, which doesn't work anymore, because is doesn't open a window
for the username etc.
but the funny is, that i am online, via the wireless minipci, which
connects during startup with the AP over dhcp. but even there are some
problems: after a time (this can be minutes or hours) i'm getting
disconnected form network. i cannot not connect anymore to it, have to
restart the machine

any ideas?

Schurl,
could you possibly check what build is that?
Open calc.exe, Help -> About calculator, and there you should see a
string similar to: Version5.1(Build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1645...
Could you possibly post that information to the newsgroup.

Thanks,
Yuriy
