Networking/Filesharing problem

I'm relatively new to configuring file sharing among computers on a network.
I have a desktop "server" connected to a D-Link 624 Wireless Router, which
in turn connects to a cable modem linked to Comcast. I have 4 wireless
clients on the network as well as two printers connnected to the desktop
hardwired to the network. All wireless clients see both printers and can
all print to the printers from anywhere in range. I also have a number of
directories on the "server" that I want to share with any of the wireless
clients on the network. Those directories are "shared" and all of the
wireless clients "see" them on the network. However, when any wireless
client tries to access those shared directories, they get a message saying,
in effect, that they can't connect because there isn't enough memory on the
server and even if there was, I don't have permission to access these
resources. I *know* the problem isn't memory, either RAM, HD, or virtual,
since the machine has 2GB RAM and a 200 GB Hard Drive with more than 100 GB
free. I also have Zone Alarm Pro installed. At first I thought this might
be the problem, but disabling it completely changes nothing. If there are
permissions set wrong, I'm not sure where they are.

I know I have *some* of this right because the printers are both working.
I'm running Win XP Pro SP2 on *all* machines - "server" and all four
wireless clients.

The precise error message I get when I try to connect to one of the shared
directories from a wireless client is:

\\servername\directory is not accessible. You might not have permission to
use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find
out if you have access permissions.

Not enough server storage is available to process this command.

On the server side, I only have two directories set up as shared. I have
"simple file sharing" turned off and I'm configuring the permissions
manually. So from Explorer I right click on the directory name, take
"properties|sharing|Share this folder" I usually use the same name, but
I've tried different names. I let "maximum users". Permissions "Everyone"
and "Read Allow". I can't see anything else to change.

I'm open to suggestions.

One additional piece of information. The "network" is only a workgroup with
all machines, host and clients all in the same workgroup each with different
names.

The design of this site is hell (at least under IE) and you will probably
need to maximise the window at a resolution of at least 1024 x 768 so that
the graphics don't overlap the text.

Thanks for the link. By surfing through it and doing a Google search on the
text of the last part of the error message I was getting, I have been able
to solve the problem. It only took a registry tweak and turning simple file
sharing back on again to finally "solve" the problem. I don't like the idea
of "open access", but I've got a hardware firewall and use 128-bit WEP and
only allow read access to three directories and no network access to
anything else. I'm not too concerned, though eventually I'd like to figure
out how to put everything on a domain and use active directories. That's
for another time though.

Thanks again for your help.
