Networking at work.

We have a win2k server at work.

The server, 4 win98 machines, and my win2k ws box all hook upto a SMC
Barricade router.
My question is this. Do i need to specify in my network area (win2k
ws and win98 boxes) and ip address, and dns information? Or should I
let the router handle this?

Are you running AD? If so, best to let your W2k/AD server run DHCP...you can
instead let the router do it if you don't have AD.

The router by default wouldn't handle this unless it is running a DHCP
Server function. It is advised for any server that the IP is assigned
statically. client machines should be dynamic ( Use DHCP )
