Network Setup Disk

M

Mark

I am trying to setup a network for an XP and W98 machines
using a router. The XP machine doesn't have a floppy
drive and when I run the setup wizard it doesn't give the
option of creating a setup disk using the CD drive. It
only gives the option of MMC, MS, SmartMedia and
CompactFlash. Of course, the W98 machine does not have
these.

I thought I could create a setup floppy disk on the W98
and copy it to a CD to run on the XP but that doesn't seem
to be an option.

Any ideas????

Greetings Mark,

The Network Setup Wizard can be copied from your computer to another. Open
the C:\WINDOWS\system32 directory on your computer and copy the netsetup.exe
program to writeable disk. It is one file that extracts and installs the
necessary files for the network setup. The Network Setup Wizard will only
run on computers Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, and Windows ME. For more
details, see the following link.
