Network Setuo Wizard doesn't work in P2P between XP and W2K !

I am attempting to establish a P2P connection using crossover cable to
connect my XP Desktop to my W2K Laptop.

I am using the Desktop with XP Pro to initiate this and started the
installed " Network Setup Wizard."

When this gets to the part where I must insert the XP CD into the
Laptop and select "Perform Additional Tasks " I eventually get a
message which says that W2K is not supported.

How do I get the Network Setup Wizard to work with W2K ?

If it doesn't work with W2K , can anyone direct me to a Tutorial which
will explain to a beginner how to achieve this connection between XP
and W2K equipped machines ?

I believe there is an option, when you run the network setup wizard on the
XP machine, to create a floppy that you can then use to run the wizard on
the 2K machine. Use that floppy, not the xp cd.

Thanks for the reply.

You're correct , there is such an option . Unfortunately my laptop has
no means of running floppies - no floppy drive .
