Network Printer Status Codes

Does anyone know how to clear the status codes on a network printer? For
example, the PC will show the printer is Offline, Out of Paper, Paper Jam,
etc. when in fact the printer is showing Ready on its status screen. I can
reboot the PC and it'll work just fine. How can I clear that code without
rebooting. The printer is on the network by IP and the PC's connect via IP
address to the printer. It is not a Windows shared printer.

If you are using Standard TCP/IP Ports you could disable SNMP in the port
configuration but you lose rich status. When the device is out of paper the
job fails with an error.

How many printers are defined per machine?
