Network icon on sys tray

This is a little odd.

I've got a XPe image (FP2007 with rollup 1) that includes all the networking
stuff.

If i start the system without the network cable connected i get (as you
would expect) the icon on the sys-tray that indicates that the network cable
is unplugged.

When i plug the cable in i get the 'network cable connected' baloon and the
icon changes to the one with the little yellow dot that indicates it's trying
to obtain a network address. And that is where it stays. I have to go into
network properties and repair the link to get it to actually obtain a new
address. It doesn't appear to do it on it's own. Even after i do that i
still get the icon with the same icon.

However if i start the system up with the network cable already pugged in it
gets an IP address and goes straight to the normal network icon in the
systray.

Any help would be appreciated.
