network card Linksys LNE100TX

Before upgrading my motherboard, I had a network card Linksys LNE100TX
installed. Because the new MB has already had inbuilt LAN, I therefore
removed the card. However, on running the winXP, it still looks for the
Linksys card. I checked the registry, there are four/five entries of
Linksys. Instead of editing the registry, is there anyother way to remove
this hidden network card (This card is not shown in the system/hardware
list)? Thanks.

Hi,

Suggestions:

Go to the Device Manager. Choose View and select Show Hidden Devices. Go
to the device group in question and uninstall the entries for your device.
Now choose Action and Scan for Hardware Changes.

If still the same: Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network
