Netscape freezing up after Microsoft update that installed 2-16-07

I shut down the computer which installed the update before powering down.
When I got on Netscape on friday, it kept on freezing up on me. It stays
froze for a few minutes then comes back up. It freezes up again a few minutes
later and the cycle keeps repeating.

What was on that update that is messing with Netscape so badly?

I'm having the exact same problem. It actually will happen other times too.
There is 100% CPU usage by whatever program is being run that has halted.
After a min or two it will go again for another 30 to 60 seconds. Started
Fri, thought at first it was spyware etc or maybe a corrupted file but after
checking for those and coming up empty I realized it started after the
updates from Thur night. I'd love to hear what to do to fix it.

Not a Windows issue and not a general Netscape issue. I'm running both
Netscape versions 7.1 and 7.2 on my fully patched systems and there are
no problems at all. Maybe, you should upgrade from Netscape 4.7. ;)

I'm running 7 and it isn't just 7. Freezing up other times, for example can't
even write files to a disk without it freezing (I'm trying to make sure
everything is backed up.

I'm posting this reply using Netscape 7.2, having the latest Microsoft
patches installed. You may want to address your problem to
