.Net Problem HELP!!!

When I do a windows update .Net service pack 2 is always
listed. I have updated and manually installed .net sp2
numerous times but it is never installed. What can I do
to get it installed? I'm running xp pro.

SP2 is meant for the framework version 1.0 only. If you have 1.1 installed
you don't need the SP.

Install Framework 1.0, then install and it will not show up again.

I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I have been having exactly
the same problem for several months. I am running Windows
2000. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling
Microsoft.Net, and the problem continues. I can't find any
troubleshooting help about this from Microsoft.

Can anyone offer some advice?
