.net passport, hotmail, messenger problem!!

Hi i recentley installed msn6, when this was installed i
got an error message saying that i was not connected to
the internet, so i uninstalled msn6 and tryed to us
messenger 4.7 instead, but i also receve a message saying
that i am not connected and to check the service status,
i have also tryed logging into hotmail, and after log in
the page is unable to be displayed. i am using windows xp
home, and exporer 6.2.2600, with all critical updates.
please get back to me as this is driving me wild!!! many

i also have the same problem.. i have tried uninstalling
both windows messenger and msn messenger 6 and
reinstalling them. everything was fine unitl i d/loaded a
windows update this afternoon.. when i restarted computer
messenger wouldnt sign in and gave me an error messag
saying that i was not connected to the internet,. i have
trid all the suggestions in this newsgroup and im still
having problems..
i know that the username and password are correct because
i was using it up until i installed the update.
all help is appreciated
