Nero software issue

My son installed a Sony CD drive with Nero software. When I click on the nero
icon the screen goes blank then restarts with huge icons and font. When I
close the screen it goes blank then restarts normally. I have talked to
Compaq, my brand of computer and Sony to no avail. They think it has
something to do with setting in windows. Can anyone help? The Nero version is
Nero Express 6

Download and install the latest version of Nero.
Write down your Nero serial number, then uninstall
the current installation before installing the new version.

Nero sucks. It always has a problem with mp3 file names or some other
irratation. I use Burn4Free. Works great and is free.
