Nero InCD Software Installation Failure

R

Rhett

Having just built my computer using a Shuttle MN31/N
nForce2 motherboard and installing WinXP Home OEM edition
I tried to load Nero eXpress burning software. I can load
and use the Nero eXpress portion, but the InCD option
causes my system to crash and Windows would not open. I
had to use safe mode to uninstall InCD. I have installed
this software using Win98se on three other computers
without a problem. How do I overcome the installation
problems with XP? Thank you.

it is probably clashing with the packet writing software in XP.
that would be my guess

Really, I'd like to know the answer to that too, since there is no
packet writing software in XP, though it does have a very minimal CD
burning capabilities.

What version of InCD are you trying to install? Try downloading the
latest version from www.nero.com.

Which version? You need to get to at least InCD 3.5 - and preferably
later.

XP's inbuilt software is not packet writing, and is usually disabled by
installing InCD - but check at My Computer, r-click the drive,
Properties and uncheck the Enable box on the Recording page

With my recently purchased computer that came with XP Pro and a CD/DVD
RW unit with Nero Express, there is no loading of InCD. The chances are
that XP has what it needs without InCD. Have you tried burning a CD
without it?

Sounds like your talking from your own very limited experience.
