Need to remove server

A server was removed from our network. It was not taken off of the AD Sites
and Services before it was removed from the network. The DC that we have now
shows this old server in the AD Sites and Services. It will not allow me to
remove this old server. It is also giving me NTDSS KCC errors in our event
logs because it is still trying to perform replication links and consistency
checks with this old server. How can I remove any refernce to this old
server from my network?
