need to recover contacts

Recently I had to rebuild my PC but b4 I did I made a
ghost image of my C: drive, I have re installed outlook
2003 BUT after importing my *.pst file I have lost all my
contacts/address book, I noticed that I have a *.nk2 file
in my ghost image, are the contacts in this file? If so
how do I get them back into outlook?

Contacts are in the PST file, not the NK2 file.
First, never import a PST, just reuse it.
Second, clarify what you mean. Contacts and the address book are not the
same thing. Which is missing? I would expect the address book to be empty
because you imported your PST and corrupted your profile. But the Contacts
Folder should not be. Is it?

OK maybe I goofed by importing the PST file. What happend
is that I got all my e-mails back, except the contacts
and no the contacts are not corrupted they are just
empty. So what you are saying is, just copy the old PST
file over the new one?

First, verify that your Contacts Folder is truly empty, not just your
Address Book view. If so, they got lost in the import or export.
Second, absolutely do NOT overwrite a PST file. Microsoft has provided
instructions on how to migrate your PST file:

Hi,
Contacts and the address book are not the
same thing. Which is missing?

I just switched to Outlook2003 from OE. Somehow, Outlook 2003 appeared to
import my pst file.
Please advise me how to recreated address book. When I clicked Address Book
Icon on Outlook2003, I got following error:
The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder associated
with this address list could not be opened; it may >have beenmoved or
deleted....

Need your assistance. Satoshi

Not possible. OE does not use a PST file. Perhaps you mean that Outlook
imported your Contacts from OE. Do you? If so, you simply need to configure
your Outlook Address Book.
