Need to re-establish DDE connection between Access and Word

I've been working with word using Access as my source to fill in the blanks.
All of a sudden when I attempt to open any word document I get the following
message"Word could not re-establish a DDE connection to micro soft access to
complete the current task". I then have to look up the source/tables
manually each time to get things working again.
