Need regedit to point to Current User

Background... Booted XP Pro with camcorder attached. Got the BSOD,
ctl-alt-del. Copied ntldr and ntdetect from install CD, pressed R.

I can still access Web with DSL, and home networking still works.

Computer still shows me Logged On as usual. I was/am the Admin. All
Admin Tools were gone, but I downloaded a zip file that contained them.
Also gone is Outlook Express, Programs, Documents, photos, everything except
my program for Palm Install on the desktop and my Word documents. (Very happy
about that.)

Unable to use Sys. Restore, no dates available, Volume Info was zero. I
have gone into regedit and I can see ALL of my programs, and My Favorites, I
just can't get to them from My Computer. The settings, in Docs & Settings in
registry. appear to be correct, although I am not sure where all to look. I
have tried Taking
Ownership, that doesn't work.

Is there a way to have my registry point to the Current User for everything?
Or, should it point to the HK Users S-1-5 area down at the bottom? Right
now, I am not sure where it is looking, but it is not finding all of my
Programs and Files. I am sorry if I cannot make this clear, I am so
confused myself. I believe my original Ntuser files were all replaced, so it
would not work to try and copy them to restore old info.

While I cannot see my programs on my desktop or anywhere, I can see them all
in the registry. I just can't get to them! Many thanks if anyone can offer
ideas for me.

After reading some other posts, I typed in %userdomain% and %username%.
Neither of those could be found by Windows.

Earlier, while trying to research repair, I went into the Sharing area of
Folders. Might I have messed something up there? Does it matter how many
folders are shared with other users?

Currently, I only have two accounts. The one I have always used as admin.,
and the new admin. account I just set up.

I do hope someone can help me!!
