Need popups unblocked

Well, at least that's what I think is going on.

Here's the deal: I'm trying to fix this computer for my mother. She
installed a pop-up blocker of some sort, but it turned out that she
has some business websites that use pop-ups which her popup software
was blocking. So I told her to uninstall the popup software which she
did, but now when new windows popup they do not have any information
in them (popups are transparent, there is a permanent hour glass,
etc.) To further complicate things, "Open in New Window" on any link
gives the same result. Similarly, Windows Update also doesn't
download updates. She using Windows 98 SE, IE 6.0.26.

Thanks,
Drennan

I bet it would help immensely if you actually named the pop-up blocker
program so other users of that same product could provide insight to
your quandary.

What has worked very well for me is a pop up blocker I got
from the Kim Komando web site. It's a freebee and is
called Pop-up Stopper from Panicware. Good luck.
