I need help how to scan for virus in SAFE mode. The pc is already in SAFE
mode but could not scan at all. I click

Start/Run/Norton Antivirus...../OK then nothing happen.

if you suspect a virus, try an online scan. Some viri dissable any AV apps
and prevent them from running.

thanks, what do you recommend? If I use online scan, should it be done in

That depends on the connection you use. If you need to dial a connection
using a modem or via pppoe, you are not able to access the Internet in Safe
Mode. Otherwise, you can try Safe Mode with Network.

I use dial-up so SAFE MODE are off for now.

...now when I scan virus online (TRENDMICRO) with system restore OFF, it
could not scan, it said "IE has encountered a problem and it need to shut off"

What's next?
