Need help

I have downloaded the windows vista 32 bit onto my computer and winrar
recognises it. when i open it with winrar it only shows a readme.txt file and
thats it. When i try to burn it to a dvd is says, "The file"windows
vista.iso" is larger than 2 GB and therefore cannot be stored in an ISO file
system. Please use the UDF file system to write such large files. This can be
done by selecting another compilation type."

So that was trying to burn it as a bootable disk. So then I burned it as a
data disk.
This is what i get.
"One of the files to be added is larger than 2 GB. If you add this file the
disc will only be readable under Windows 98,2000,and XP(the UDF file system
will be used). Do you want to proceed?"

So i burnt the cd as a data cd and it just comes up as a winrar file on the
cd and nothing happens. I doesn't do anything when i try to boot off of it
when restarting.

Can someone help me?

You need to burn the file as an Image, which is what it is. If you use
Nero, look under Recorded and Burn Image. Other utilities may have the same
type selections. If you don't know if yours will burn an image file, there
are several suggestions in the group about what to use. And it has to be on
a DVD.

Open Nero Burning ROM. If you use SmartStart, just open a DVD Data or Boot
or whatever. If a preferences window opens, close it. Go to the tool
bar-Recorder-Burn Image. When the file selection window opens, point it to
the Vista .iso file. It will burn a bootable DVD using the image file.
Don't make any other changes to the burning setup.

If you can't find some of these steps, advise where you get stuck. It gets
a little confusing when you see an ISO tab, but that is not what you are
looking for. And you are not looking for an image file that it asks for
when you make a bootable DVD.

Hi, Jason.

As Clark said, you need to burn an Image. And it's too big for a CD; you'll
need a DVD.

In Nero 7 StartSmart, click Nero Express. From the menu on the left, choose
the bottom item: "Image, Project, Copy". Then from the new menu on the
right, choose the bottom item, "Disk Image or Saved Project". From there,
browse to your source file and "follow your nose".

It's not all intuitive, but you'll find your way, I'm sure.
