Need a CD copier for my combination DVD-CD burner.

The software that came with my LG all-in-one DVD burner is called
B's ... a good name because it is bullshit. The LG burner itself
is great. I need a simple, free CD copier that will work with my
DVD burner, which handles CD-Rs and CD-RWs.

Clone CD isn't freeware, and is only a 15-day demo.

HotBurn isn't free. Somebody bought it up and is doing the demo
thing with it.

I downloaded and tried CD Burner XP (and like it a lot) but it
doesn't do copies.

Most of the free CD programs are designed to rip songs from music
CDs. I don't want that. I want a straight one-to-one copier. If
it's got other stuff built in, so much the better. If it does RAW
copies, better still.

Does anybody know where I can download a CD copier that can handle
DVD burners running in Windows XP?

Drag the cd contents into burner window
to burn and CdBurnerXp Pro should do the job nicely.

Hello (I mean hello to everyone! This is my first post in the cool ng :D)
I think burnatonce should do what you want.
I use it a lot and NEVER got problems, I just love it.

In the website you can find general features, they are:
Cue, toc and iso image burning
Read to toc/dat or cue/bin image
Copy on the fly
Multi-language support
Support for Windows XP themes
Drag and drop disc mastering
Supports SPTI and ASPI Interface
Supports USB and Firewire under SPTI
Supports DVD writing with optional download.

So it seems to me there's what you want :)

It should burn straight to new cd.

Will it do "on the fly" copy or will it first make na image on the hdd?

That copies the content fine, but the CD doesn't boot as it is
supposed to. I tried making it bootable (in the XP format,
whatever that may be) and it still wouldn't boot. I just need a
copier, but I've looked, and there don't seem to be any free ones
around.

Tried burnatonce. Maybe I don't understanding how to work it, but
it just seems to freeze and do nothing when I try to use it to
copy a disk. I let it sit for fifteen or twenty minutes, when it
was supposedly making an image file, then had to do a cold reboot
to get Windows XP back up and running.

Try Sony CD Extreme. You need Sony Cd Extreme, CD Extreme update and prassi
engine update. Google should be able to find it. It's pretty much poor man's
Nero :)

Perhaps Xduplicator:
http://users.forthnet.gr/ath/axatis/XProject/XDuplicator/index.htm

Or CDmanipulator:
http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/3/1/3-1-11.shtml

CDpisac:
http://www.vdsworld.com/~vuks/cdpisac/#cd2cd

I haven't tried any of these myself.

Or you can use Discdump:
http://come.to/ddumpfrontend
to make an iso of your CD which you can burn with burnatonce, Deepburner
Free etc.

Thanks for the links. I will check them out.

I fiddled around with burnatonce and got it to work. It just
doesn't like my CD-ROM. It seemed to work fine when I stuck with
my DVD burner for both creating the image file and burning the disk.

I also reinstalled BS Gold, and now it also seems to work. It's
sort of revealing about this program that they install with an
entire, separate HTML help file devoted solely to Atapi errors.
Mine was an Atapi error. Reinstallation seemed to cure it.
