NAV disappearing from sys tray

I know this is probably the wrong group for this as this is a s/w problem
but u all seem so knowledgeable, I hope u dont mind just this once

I have XP Home with all the updates

Suddently my NAV icon has disappeared from my sys ray.
It's checked to appear there in the application
I've checked in msconfig to see if auto NAV is running and it is

What could be wrong?

TIA
Regards
Sheri

Hi Sheri -

Have a look at Task Bar and Start Menu Properties. At the bottom half of
the sheet is "Notification Area". Is "Hide inactive icons" checked? If so,
remove the check or hit the Customize button and look to see if the NAV icon
is listed as inactive.

Thank you for your reply, Jef
I have unchecked the "hide inactive icons' but still no Norton icon. I then
rechecked it and hit customise and it says 'always show' I have now re
unchecked the box

Hi Sheri -

Next possible solution:

Go into the NAV options panel and check to see if the option to place an
icon in the system tray is selected.

Sheri, I had the same problem, but all my icons
dissapeared. If you still have the problem, let me know I
will look up the link for you. There is a file you can
download to fix the problem. Worked great for me. To
reply, remove "privacy.net" and replace
with "beachridr.com"
