i don't know whether its that program that is causing all the problems, but
the uninstall.exe wont run at all and i don't know why.

i have 1 gig of RAM and 65.7 gig out of 107 gig hard drive. is that what you
mean by system resources?

I checked and none of them have a warning symbol next to them. I uninstalled
the program that was having problems as well. I've rebooted my computer and
age of mythology still wont uninstall.

i already tried running it in compatibility mode and that didn't work. I'll
try putting the disk in and see if that helps.

i put the disk in and it uninstalled instantly. But the sidebar is still not
working.

I've tried exiting it all at once from the taskbar and started it again but
it didn't help. I've tried all the default gadgets when you go to add a
gadget and even tried some others but none of them work. I'll try updating my
direct x to the latest version.

System restore may be an option, provided that the restore points go back to
before the problem began. If you can pinpoint the date that the problems
started, choose a restore point from the day before.

Hello.
Are you getting any error messages?
Is It possible that you might have disabled it instead of an error causing
it to go away?
Try starting the side-bar by selecting it from the Start menu

I had this problem happen to me this morning. I went to System restore and
found a restore point from ealier that morning made by a Definition update
for Windows Defender (which had installed without informing me). After
rolling back, the Sidebar returned to normal.

In case anyone is interested, the update was titled "Definition 1.22.3587.0"
