My Windows Explorer jumps up and down ... help!

I am using WindowsXP Pro and I am having a problem with my Windows
Explorer. Whenever it appears and I start to move the scroll bar
separating the two windows the folder names start to jump up and down. I
can still get my mouse on a folder and get it open but it is very
annoying. Can anyone fill me in as to what to do in this case.
