Windows XP My step moms comp is nuts

whenever my step mom opens link in IE they will not open they auto minimize and disapear and when she tries to veiw pictures files the program automatically minmize and refuse to maximize. i am scanning forviruses and have before it never shows up infected. i have never seen this kinda anomlly in software with windows. any advice would be welcome. thnx

sounds like maybe spyware - have you tried scanning for this?

ad-aware is good for this.

run a full system scan and see if it catches anything.

THnx i will try that forgot about spyware she does play alot of free games and stuff that commmonly contains spyware.

Hmm.. actually Adaware catches Ad ware
Spybot search and destroy, is a good one for Spyware

What exactly is the difference between Ad-ware and Spy-ware?

Adware is the annoying stuff, like search bars that appear in windows, or random applications installed on your comupter that you never download. stuff like that can slow down you machine.
Spyware ... i have vague ideas but i think its something thats takes personal information about you thats on your computer... something like that

ya it was spyware this dumb casino 2300 peices of spyware to be exact it seems to be fine now. there was also 3 pop up stoppers tooo......
