My website is taking way too long to load. I use FP 2002 SP3. It seems to me
that I have it set up pretty simple, but it takes forever to load and I am
on a DSL line. the site is www.elmirador.tv.
Can you please advise?
Thank you

It pops up almost immediately for me. It could very well have nothing to do
with the speed of your line. Broadband technologies, such as DSL, are
subject to the amount of total bandwidth available for all subscribers off a
given node. It could be that there isn't much bandwidth available for your
area at the time you are looking, or lots of people are also browsing at the
same time, dividing the total bandwidth down more than would like. The DSL
speeds a provider gives are usually maximum or average speeds not minimum
speeds so your results can vary wildly from others who live only a few miles
away.

If other sites are snappy, it could just be the steps that you have to go
through to reach that particular site from your particular location. For me,
all the hops along the route my request to the site averaged a speed of
about 20 milliseconds each, which is pretty darned good. It could just be
that the path your have to take to get to the site has a slow pipe between
one or more of the hops and that is what is actually slowing you down and
not the site or the host.

Hope this helps,

Thank you for that information. I went to an optimizer page and it told me I
had to make all these changes - Images, java script, etc. So I went in a made
drastic changes to the site. Now it does load faster but I lost some things
that I wanted on the home page. So! Now I am reading up on CSS because it is
Greek to me. I want to thank you for your reply and your help.
