My outlook does not send messages and does not post incoming messa

I recently bought a new HP Desktop that came loaded with Vista. My Outlook
2003 shortly after started acting up. It says it receives messages but they
never show up in the inbox, or any other folder. Also when trying to send
Outlook says it sent but the message remains in my outbox. I have been told
that 2003 Outlook will encounter problems if receiving files/attachments sent
from another Vista computer. Is this true? Also is there a software fix?
Did Microsoft really put out a program that causes issues with another one of
its products?

Do you see any error messages and/or numbers? Have you checked your
application event viewer for any Office-related errors? If so, post the
EventID number and source. Do you have Office fully patched? Have you tried
re-applying the latest Office SP?
