My Network Places

WXP SP2, DSL Modem Connection and D-Link DI-704UP Router ..
Under My Network Places in WXP Explorer there has appeared 8 folders,
Program Files, My Document, an Optical Drive, and Backup Folders.
I'm using a Desktop only. I haven't a Network with any other computers Set
up.

All entries read the name of the folder on the name of my computer.

What would have made these folders appear and how can I get rid of these
entries to clean this up? When I Right Click, there is a Delete in the
resulting Menu. Would it be safe to just Delete them or is there a
setting I can use to make them disappear and a setting to enable or disable
so these folders don't reappear, or other folders appear. Thx In Advance For
your advice.
at a later date?

hi looking at our mail looklike you set up network on it .ok no problem one
thing you can do is go to those folder from your my document folder than
right click it then you will see there is sharing and security, you have to
click that and when it's open you have to clear all select box on it.if you
do it to all folder that apper in that network should be fine other wise you
can set up home network with different name default is mshome you you must
change it.hopefully it solve your problem.cheers

Hi Sasi, You're the only one that knew what the problem was I was trying to
describe!
While initially I wasn't at all familiar with what you were telling me, as I
worked with Sharing & Security, your instructions became perfectly clear.
What a Pair we make! LOL Thx so much for helping me.
