My Mouse has a mind of its own!!

I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop running on Windows XP home and wherever I leave my mouse when I am working on anything or on the internet it clicks on the link it is positioned over automatically! I have tried all the XP support and to no avail. Please can somebady put me out of my misery (I'm going to end up bidding on something or sending an email I really didn't intend to send if I don't solve this soon!!!

Maybe you are touching the touchpad and you have "Tapping" switched on
(which is on by default usually) - you only need to accidently brush
or tap the touchpad very lightly to simulate a single click (even if
you have a USB mouse installed).

Try turning Tapping off - Control Panel / Mouse / Settings.

Thanks John I have now disabled Tapping and we'll wait and see

Its not jumping just clicking wherever it is was I last used it, but I think John A may have solved my problem (fingers crossed). Maybe he can help you as I am not PC fluent!
