I initially had a problem with my computer not recognizing niether my DVD
drive nor the CD-Rom drive. After talking to a tech support person for help,
I was instructed (I was guided on the phone) to reload the OS (windows xp).
After doing so, when I attempted to restart my computer, my system/computer
was not able to run the OS - the cursor screen was only blinking. Several
attempts were made and still nothing. Some of the registries got corrupted.
Because I had lots of family pictures in the hard drive (90 gigs data mostly
of pictures) and never backed them up -what a mistake!, I bought a new hard
drive just to load the OS and hoping that the original drive could to be
used as a second drive and its data would be accessable. Did not happen. My
current situation is: a) my old drive still shows that I have 90 Gigs of
space used (giving me some hope). But data cannot be accessed. Can anyone
please! please! help.
