My desktop icons are masked by Excel icon.

Hi all,

I m using Win2K. Previously this does not happen to me. After i installed
some applications, the Excel icon automatically mask my other icons on my
desktop after every startup. Any answer to that? I tried using the property
to set it back to the default icon but in vain. Additional information is
that the icons looked normal during the starting of the startup but masked
once it reached the end. It could probably be the result of some service that
is run during the startup. Any help on this? And i don't know which service
is the cause. Thanks.

Control Panel|Display|Appearance|Advanced and try changing the icon size by
one, apply changes, then go back in and change the size back. This should
cause the operating system to rebuild the shelliconcache file which may be
in a corrupted state.
