My default printer disappears

I try to print in Outlook. It says I have no printers.

I check my printers in control panel and not one is marked for default. I
pick one.

I return to Outlook and I can choose from several printers. I print to the
default printer and it prints fine.

It happens again later without a reboot or a logoff.

I have not found a solution to this yet via search tools.

I found a post on another message board where the person discovered that the
problem is caused by doing an rdp session into the Vista computer. The
solution is to uncheck the printers box in the configuration of the rdp -
assuming that you do not need to bring the printers locally. I haven't
verified this yet but it makes some sense since I frequently, but not
always, access my Vista office PC from home. I thought it was worth a post
since no one has responded to my original post.
