When trying to access drives through my computer, the
flashlight shows up and takes several minutes before all
the drives, CDROMS, etc. show up.

This is a sudden occurrence and still happens when I use
system restore.

I am using WINXP Pro.

Sometimes this happens when there is a printer/scanner driver that is
needing to be updated.
Does it happen in safe mode? To get here and try, tap F8 as the computer is
starting and choose safe mode from the list.
