"my computer" stops responding with zip drive

When I try to open my zip 100 drive in "my computer", "my
computer" stops responding. I have installed the iomega
drivers recommended for xp home edition. Any ideas out
there. Thanks

This is a known bug in WinXP Explorer. It won't display My Computer until it
gets info about all drives. It can take a lot of time if a removable drive
struggles thru a bad unreadable media. Until it gives up, Exporer appears as
not responding.
So check your disk or drive.
