My Computer in XP doesn't see ms-dos drive

I was attempting to transferring files from a Mac w/OSx to a windows
formatted external HD. OSx couldn't see it, so I selected ms-dos format in
the Disk Utility(I have no idea what that did). OSx then saw the drive and I
was able to routinely transfer 95gb of data.
When I now connect to my XP system(sp2 installed), the Device Manager lists
the drive, and reports that it is working properly. However, it's not listed
under My Computer.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

Assign it a drive letter from Device Manager and then it will be
"seen" by My Computer and Explorer.

Hi,
Thanks for the tip. But when I roam around Device Manager I don't see
anyplace to assign it a letter. How do I do it?

Thanks!

CS-
More info. I found Disk Management - it says this drive is Drive 1, 152.66
GB Unallocated. If I right-click on it, I'm only offerd "New Partition" and
"Properties", but not "Change Drive Letter and Paths...". By contrast, my
main drive (C) shows 3 partitions, with info for each, e.g. "70.97 GB NTFS,
Healthy (System)".

Except that you do not assign letters in DM under XP. Control Panel -
Admin Tools - Computer Management, select Disk Management and look lower
right for the graphic of the drive. R-click in anything but the
system's partition (C: usually) and Change drive letter

As illogical as it is, I think the only way to see an MS-DOS formatted drive
is by attaching it to a Mac! This is crazy!

If it says unallocated then there is no partition to have a letter (any
disk must have at least one partition). Use the New partition option

BTW in XP you cannot make a FAT 32 partition bigger than 32 GB.
