I started my computer up yesterday and found that a few things don'
work.
first off I had an error message saying symenatic or something need
reinstalliing, whats this I thought, I am new to this I only bought p
a couple of months ago (new).
Then I got this message which mysteriously started oneday and appear
ever since,
C:\PROGRAM~1\COMMON~1\updmgr.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoex.NT
Then another equally mysterious and another regular message when
switch on GMT.exe ESNSEngine.d11 cannot be found pls reinstall it.
I can live with these messages as they do not seem to affect th
computer for things I use i.e internet, works and virus checker, but
can't live with out start menu so I set off looking for it. I checke
to see if it was hidden via My computer but it wasn't so I clicked o
Help and support but this wouldn't work at all clicked again, nothing.
I tried to go to microsoft updates but the page was blank, I tried t
access this thru microsft website which worked but then the option t
check for updates was faded out, I tried to go on help and support o
this and some of the boxes and things were empty. This function doe
not work at all on any website. Other things don't work too like Work
and copy & paste, AOL check up, search for files and folders in m
computer. I also don't seem to have win doctor. To make matters wors
I can't reinstall windows Xp as I didn't get the disk with the compute
xp was already on it I really don't want to do this anyway. I know wha
may have started this off, I left computer running one night and cam
down in the morning to an error message (I wish I'd written it down
saying something about windows programs being changed if I do somethin
or other but only gave me the option of pressing o.k so I pressed it,
hadn't done anything to prompt this in the first place just forgot t
switch it off!! I then switched off. Then when I switched back on th
problems started. I am sure lots of other funtions don't work either.
ran AVG check this works and I don't have any viruses. Please somebod
help.
p.s I don't understand a lot of the jargon so in English if you can
