My bios has suddenly become ACPI non-compatible

Hi.

The other day after i reset my computer i recived the
following error on bootup:
BIOS Checksum error

After a while i was able to pass this and windows
proceeded to start to boot up, but during the process i
get assorted errors including: My BIOS isnt ACPI
compatible; SYSTEMFAT is damaged or corrupted and numerous
others. After the error appears, my system tells me to
reset and try again, where i recieve the same error.

I dont understand why this has happened as i havent
installed any new software or hardware recently and i dont
have the internet connected to this computer.

I would appreciate any feedback on this mysterious problem
which i driving me crazy.
Thanks.

Checksum errors are usually bad news (from experience).
Have you had a power surge, or bad lightening storms
recently. Sounds like your bios has gotten zapped. Open
up your computer find your battery that holds your bios
memory (it looks like a dime). Pull it out and let the
computer sit for about 10-15 minutes. Put the battery
back in and see if that will correct the problem. I
can't promise anything but there's always hope. If that
doesn't work you may either have to replace the bios or
motherboard. Usually those checksum errors are serious
problems. Good luck.
