Music stuttering

Shaics

I cannot play any music that I recorded from CD to my
hard drive without it stuttering or breaking up. I have
tried Windows Media Player 9, RealOne Player,
AudioStation 4, Roxio Audio Central Player and they all
break up. I have recorded the music in wma and mp3
format with the same results. I have swapped out my
Audigy sound card with a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, updated
the drivers to the most recent and finally, last night I
slicked my hard drive and reinstalled Windows XP. No
luck! Anyone have any ideas? Please reply to my email
address. Thanks.

I installed windows xp pro, and get similar results.
Popping noises and slight stuttering in wav and mp3 both.
It appears that ther are some "issues" with this OS and
music which MS for some reason has not resolved.
Please post here if you get yours fixed.
Thanks!

Bullshit !

There are no issues with XP Pro and burning - just don't use WMP. Nero will
do the job better (don't forget to disable the XP burning Service).

When burning be sure to stop any background services (anti-virus, USB
devices - un plug 'em, anything that could interfere with the burning).
Above all don't cruise the web at the same time.

I've been using XP Pro it since it came out and the only problems I had
burning were of my own making.

One other thing which could cause quality problems, never burn at "full
speed". If your CDR's are rated 48 x or 24 x then burn at 24 x or 12 x
respectively. The slower the burn, the better the results.

Cheers,
Jerry
