converting music files to mp3 files

I have xp home, windows media player 9, musicman jukebox,
and Soundclick mp3 player. I'm trying to upload my own
music from c.d.'s (recorded with Sound Forge & Vegas Pro)
The Vegas and Sound Forge original recordings were lost
after old machine crashed. I need to convert the recorded
(before the crash c.d's to mp3 files.
HELP !!!
