Music on Desktop

I would like to have music played when my computer is resting - i.e.
the screensaver has gone (after 15 minutes) and the screen is now
blank. My husband's computer plays generic music at this point - he
uses Windows 98.

Can I do this with XP please? And how?

Thank you

Use your scheduled tasks option "When Idle".

Use your scheduled tasks option "When Idle".

I am sorry William but whenever I want to activate Scheduled Tasks it
goes directly into a Wizard that wants me to add a Scheduled Task and
I cannot find when idle option anywhere. It won't allow me to right
click on any of the programs in this wizard thing. Is there another
way I can do this please?

Let the wizard finish. Then go to Control Panel>Scheduled Tasks. Find the
Task you require, right click and select Properties. Then click the Schedule
Tab there will be a Drop down menu called Schedule Task. This is when you
will find "When Idle".

Good Luck

Either I don't understand William or there is something wrong with my
program.

This is what I do step by step and what results:

1. I choose Scheduled Tasks and it produces a little icon that
says Add Scheduled Task. There is no right-click option here. I
click on the Add Scheduled Task and it takes me to the Wizard that
then tells me I can choose a scheduled task from any of the programs
appearing in the box. Control Panel is not one of them. The wizard
does not finish unless I either choose one of the programs or cancel.

Going back to Control Panel doesn't work either, because when I do
that and I choose Scheduled Tasks I get the wizard again and the same
procedure.

At this point I do not know what I am supposed to ask for to get to
When Idle.

2. There is no option within this part of the Wizard for a right
click and properties. Also there is nothing else but Cancel.

Is there anything else you can offer?

I will go step by step

1. Double-click "Add Schedule Task".
2. Click Next, Select "Windows Media Play" (we will change this after).
Click Next.
3. Select "daily" (we will change this after). Click Next and Next again.
3. Enter Password Info if you have any then click Next.
4. Put a Check in "Open advanced properties for this task when I click
Finish." Click Finish.
5. Now click Browse. Where you see a drop down menu for "Files of type",
click on the down arrow and select "All Files".
6. Find the music you want to play. Then click Open.
7. Click the Schedule tab. Select "When Idle" under the Schedule Task drop
down list.
8. Then Click Apply.
