multiple errors... on start up and shut down

i have been getting the following errors, not sure how to get rid of it:

occassionally on start up:
Access violation at 0x7c91084B tried to write to 0x6030FFC program terminated.

every time on shut down or restart:
something about lsass.exe.. i can't quite read fast enough to copy the whole
error message as it disappears very quickly.. I hope you;ll know what I'm
talking about..

any help is appreciated.

If you are confidant you have no virus or spyware, I would try a repair
setup of XP.

I have ran virus scan many times, but it did not detect anything, like the
W32/Sasser.worm.. however, i cannot be certain.. Is there any way to know for
sure before i proceed with the method below?

ok.. I found the full error message for the shut down error...

Application popup: lsass.exe - DLL Initialization Failed : The application
failed to initialize because the window station is shutting down.

i have used McAfee Stinger and scanned for the sasser worm but it didn't
find anything, and the error remained..
