Basically i tried to update the driver and after the install has completed this little message pops up.

There was a problem installing this hardware:

Multimedia Audio Controller

An error occurred during the installation of the device

Access is denied.

Now I am trying to install it on an administrative account so that can't be the problem was wondering if anyone had any idea's??

Im running:

Windows XP SP 2
AMD Athlon 64 Processor
3400+
2.19GHz
896 of RAM

Im not sure what else to put here. Anyway thank you in advance.

err, how about telling us what Multimedia device you were trying to fix is.

What 'driver' were you updating?

Its my Sound driver, the speakers are built in with a Philips monitor 170B6CS. The realtek WDM A391 driver is the one im trying to install. My sound driver dissappeared I think it could of been my own fault or a virus but having no sound is incredibly fustrating!
