multiboot win98 after xp

I had to try to install win 98 after xp, but it did not work. I belive that
win98 has written over the startupsector and or the startupfiles in xp. The
computer start ok with win 98. I have made a boot diskett and then the
computer start up xp ok. Is it possible for me to reinstall the
startupsector and or the startupfiles, so that i get multiboot to work, or
do I have to reformat the disk, install win98 and then install xp.
