MSWorks Databases

Help!

I Just bought a Dell Laptop. It doesn't have MSWorks
System on it.

I have Cancer and I had created a database on my
treatments and future schedule of treatments. I can't
open the files on the laptop.

I gave my old pc to one of my grandchildren.

Can anyone tell me how I can open the *.wdb files?

Thanks, ...... Bob

That database file format for Works is proprietary and would be difficult to
convert to another program and display properly. There may be some MS Office
applications like Excel, Access or even Word that could display the data,
but it would probably not appear as it was originally formatted in Works.

I would recommend asking this question on the microsoft.public.works.win
newsgroup. They would be more familiar with any possible conversion options.

What do you have now ? If you know anyone with BOTH works and your current
database, you can possibly use their computer or have them do the data
conversion between the two. Either burn a data CD or make a floppy (if
Works database is less than 1.37 Mb) if this is possible.
