MSN Messenger won't alert of new email

Hi all,

I've been using MSN Messenger 6.1 with no problems up until now. For
some reason, I can't get Messenger to pop up with an alert telling me
that someone just sent me an email. This used to work fine up until a
few days ago. The funny thing is, I've tested this on 3 different
computer with my account and it won't work. I've tested this with my
wife's passport on the SAME 3 computers and it works on all three.
What gives?

Also, on my wife's account, the pop alert is there, but no sound is
played anymore. I've enabled sound in all settings, and it's set fine
under "Sounds" in Control Panel. I think the sounds thing started
happening after installing MSN 9, but I"m not sure.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing but nothing helps. I've
chatted with 5 different tech support people, and all five have given
me different instructions on how to fix it, but nothing works.

the thing is like there is a special addon available that
is there for the new Email detection etc. Check out
messenger.msn.com for more details.
Also do check ..

I have posted about this problem several times.... I have
already downloaded the addon and updated everything that
needs to be updated and it still does not work. I think
it is an MSN or Microsoft problem.
