msimn.exe

hanging application msimn.exe. I can open mail after a few seconds to a
minute or so, but all I can see is the header info, from, to, etc. I can't
see the message or attachment. I have to shut down IE and OE a few times
and reopen then sometimes the mail will work. When I display the task
manager, msimn.exe is cycling from 0% to around 40% this can last for a few
minutes. When msimn.exe goes from 0% to a low number and immediately back
to 0% my email works. When OE is not working and I double click on a email,
I will get not responding on the top. Have the lastest updates, ran pc
utilities, scan etc no help.

Open OE, click file > work offline.
Click file > compact all folders.
Remove out-dated messages - store them elsewhere on the drive.
Disable automated email virus scanning - real time scanning engines will
scan anything opened by default - the extra compute cycles are evil and
buggy as all heck.

There's more best-practice with OE but that should be enough to get you
started.
