msconfig startup tab access denied

No problemsd before, but now when I run msconfig and want to take something
off of the startup tab (I am running selective startup), I get an errtor
message saying access denied - need admin istartor. I am logged on as an
administrator. I want to get rid of some useless startup items. How can I
solve this problem?

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time things
worked and the time they didn't?

The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus
status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and
versions) did you use to determine this?

In your case, I would answer the Second Question first.
