MSCONFIG Startup

How can you remove items from the MSCONFIG Startup tab? There are things
there that I don't want, and have unchecked them, but they stay in and when I
restart MSCONFIG is set to "Selective startup mode".

Run regedit and navigate to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared
Tools\MSConfig\startupreg

You'll find subkeys for the entries you've unchecked. Right click
on each one and select delete. Msconfig will then return to
Normal Startup.
